Nakshatras

Mythologically, the Nakshatras represent the wives of the Moon. The wives are the "shakti" or power of the Moon. When the Moon is traversing certain Nakshatras, the characteristics of that particular Nakshatra will manifest itself in the world. That Nakshatra’s shakti can be used effectively. This is why Nakshatras are so important in Muhurta (electional astrology). Certain Nakshatras will facilitate the growth of a new marriage or the growth of a successful business or the growth of successful medical treatment.
